How We Ship Joe’s KC Bar-B-Que
Before placing your order, please review each section below to understand how shipping, delivery, and product handling works.
Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que ships all meats and side dishes fully cooked, vacuum sealed, and packed in insulated coolers with frozen gel packs and/or dry ice. Please note:
Products should arrive partially frozen or refrigerator-cold. If your order contains dry ice, it will likely have evaporated upon delivery — this is normal. The best way to tell if your package is viable upon delivery is if the frozen gel pack refrigerant still has any firmness left. This indicates they have only been thawed a short period of time and can be refrozen if within 48 hours of receiving the product.
Upon arrival, place items in the refrigerator for use within 7 days or in the freezer for up to 9 months.
Reheating instructions are included with every shipment. Full thawing before reheating may take 24–48 hours.
It is safe to refreeze items as long as they arrive partially frozen or refrigerator-cold and are placed in the freezer within 48 hours of delivery.
Once your order is placed, customer requested changes are not guaranteed. Please review all details before submitting.
Fulfillment occurs Monday through Friday. Orders placed after 11:30 AM Central Time will ship the next fulfillment day.
Estimated delivery days available are as follows:
Residential: Tuesday through Saturday
Commercial: Tuesday through FridayDelivery rates are quoted based on the time you enter checkout, but may adjust at fulfillment if placed over cut-off time. All delivery windows given at checkout are estimations. Please contact us with any questions about timing.
Due to the fulfillment schedule, orders placed late in the week or over the weekend may ship the following week to prevent thawing in transit.
We have four US-based warehouses nationwide. All products are made in-house at our USDA facility in Kansas City, owned and operated by Joe's KC Bar-B-Que. Products are transported to warehouses and regularly replenished.
Standard Ground shipping is used for most locations and once shipped, delivery typically takes 1–3 business days, depending on region. ⚠️ Sundays are excluded.
All orders ship "driver release" — no signature required. Packages may be left at any exterior door.
We ship via ground to locations within the continental U.S.
Hawaii and Alaska require next-day air shipping, which incurs additional cost at checkout.
Tracking & Updates: Once your order ships, you will receive a shipment confirmation email with tracking. You should receive regular updates in transit. Most orders arrive within 3 business days after shipping.
⚠️ If you stop receiving tracking updates for more than 24 hours or if your package is delayed, please contact us directly — do not contact FedEx. We are here to help and can assist more quickly.
Shipping may be impacted by inclement weather or unforeseen events. Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que is not liable for delays caused by conditions beyond our control.
Orders cannot be canceled, changed, or returned once shipped.
We do not deliver federal holidays and holidays will affect fulfillment hours and delivery date availability.
We only ship to valid street addresses.
P.O. Boxes are not accepted. If a P.O. Box is entered, Joe’s KC BBQ is not responsible for failed delivery, delays, or product spoilage due to improper storage.
Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que is not responsible for incorrect or incomplete addresses entered at checkout.
For gift shipments, please ⚠️ double check the recipient’s address.
Ensure someone will be available to receive the package on the estimated delivery date.
For events or parties, we recommend ordering a week or more in advance. Since our product is frozen, it can be stored until 24–48 hours before reheating and stored thawed for up to 7 days.
